what is opm?
Original Pinoy Music (OPM) was just "pop music" in the Philippines during the 70s, but over the years, Filipinos explored more styles and genres. Today, any Filipino-made music is OPM. We have lyrics in several of our 100+ local languages and we have performers and producers all over the world.
what is zutara opm?
Music is already such a powerful thing; but when the words are perfectly familiar to your ears, when it's by artists from your small corner of the world—it just hits different! We created #ZutaraOPM to revel in our favorite ship—bundled in healthy amounts of comfort and familiarity.
In October 2020, we launched the very first #ZutaraOPM Week, during which fanworks for Zutara were created to the tune of our favorite OPM songs guided by prompts. We saw participation not just from Filipino fans, but also from international fans.
Fueled by the support of the Zutara community, ZutaraOPM has expanded beyond being just a culture-specific ship week. To know more about the projects of ZutaraOPM, head on to the Projects section.

THE ZUTARA STAR
July 2020
The Zutara Star project took place way before ZutaraOPM was conceptualized. It began with a curious proposition among five friends: what if we get a star for Zuko and Katara?
Now fondly called "Zustara" by the fandom, the star was launched on the 4th day of Zutara Week 2020 following the prompt, Celestial. The star was registered on July 19, 2020, with the official name "Zuko & Katara". It can be found near Aldebaran, the brightest star in the Taurus constellation.
#ZUTARAOPM WEEK
October 2020
The idea for ZutaraOPM came about in early September when a group of Filipino Zutara shippers saw a Zutara AMV that used OPM. Eventually, what started as a joke came to fruition as the first #ZutaraOPM Week was officially held in October 2020. The week-long event celebrated fan content inspired by and featuring OPM (Original Pinoy Music). It is the first cultural ship-week in the Zutara fandom.
#ZKSOCIALSERYE : GOLDEN
December 2020 until March 2021
Golden is an immersive Zutara-centric social media AU published on Twitter. The AU features Avatar: The Last Airbender characters in the entertainment scene of modern-day Ba Sing Se—as music producers, idols, indie artists, and more.
Readers are more than welcome to create fanfiction and/or edits based on Golden as long as everyone is properly credited. For more information, please visit the Golden Media Kit.

The #ZKGoldenZine is a free and non-profit fanmade zine by an all-Filipino team. The zine is based on the social media AU, Golden.

What is the Zine about?
The #ZKGoldenZine is a safe-for-work, free, and non-profit fanmade zine by an all-Filipino team. The zine is based on the Zutara social media AU, Golden, and features Zuko, Katara, and the other characters from the Golden verse.
Will the Zine be digital or physical?
How much is it?
The zine will be digital (PDF) only. It is free, non-profit, and is something of a labor of love, but if you like our work, we’re currently running a donation drive through our Ko-Fi in which 100% of the proceeds from the zine promotion will be donated to Save Our Schools Network (SOS), a non-government organization advocating for children's right to education.

Preorders are ongoing and will close on April 24, 2021. You may preorder the Zine here. As for the distribution, we will be sending the zines to the email addresses that were registered in the pre-order form.
Who are the contributors for the Zine?
The Zine will feature fanworks created by the Golden team and various guest contributors who are all Filipinos. You can find out more about them through the #TeaserTuesday, #WritersWednesday, and #FeatureFriday posts on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.
Do you have a schedule?
When will the Zine be released?
Planning for the zine started back in January, even before the SMAU ended. We’re currently in the creation period and doing check-ins with our contributors. We can’t say the release date just yet, but the target is sometime after Zutara Month.

Golden is a collaborative project. Aside from the team, we have guests that contributed to the making of the Social Media AU. Fan edits and fanfics are more than welcome but we want to make sure everyone is properly credited.
Profile Picture and/or Cover Photo - No need to ask permission. Go ahead and grab your favorite scenes and credit us on your bio. For screenshots of animated scenes, please credit @ecaworks.
